Looking good – lovely apple – it will go red and yellow and taste as sharp and clean as frost?

Half of one bush? Still I picked a few and most of the gooseberries.
Wild strawberries brought from Isle of Purbeck with Mum are fruiting now – yum?
Too dry to plant the veg garden this year – but it’s interesting watching the plants go to seed and still there are bits to pick Β – especially if it’s bindweed you like to pick at.
When the standing hay crop is off I expect it will throw the veg jungle in to focus and then I will act beyond spraying off the bind weed.
Our weeping willow has died – since the septic tank was renewed and soak away replaced it has struggled and last summer’s drought hit it – it came back this spring but last week it browned
About the same time, the later flowering apple trees showed a foot of brown from the tips back – after a hint of frost – one morning.
Still, the rest of the orchard looks potentially fruitful – especially the pears- as do the soft fruits.
